Rural development is dependent on well-water production. When developers plan community development projects they need to be able to show substantial potable water capacity. More often than not these projects never get beyond the source investigation phase due to contamination in the groundwater. Additionally, many planned communities encounter water shortages due to contamination resulting in inoperable wells. When these wells become inoperable water authorities are challenged with distribution and storage issues that result in unforeseen financial shortfalls. The LSTE Technology can resolve these issues and bring inoperable wells back to a usable state.

Water recycling is reusing treated wastewater for beneficial purposes such as agricultural and landscape irrigation, industrial processes, and replenishing a ground water basin (referred to as ground water recharge). Water is sometimes recycled and reused onsite; for example, when an industrial facility recycles water used for cooling processes. A common type of recycled water is water that has been reclaimed from municipal wastewater or sewage. The term water recycling is generally used synonymously with water reclamation and water reuse.

Through the natural water cycle, the earth has recycled and reused water for millions of years. Water recycling generally refers to projects that use technology to speed up these natural processes. Water recycling is often characterized as "unplanned" or "planned." A common example of unplanned water recycling occurs when cities draw their water supplies from rivers that receive wastewater discharge from upstream. Water from these rivers has been reused, treated, and piped into the water supply a number of times before the last downstream user withdraws the water. Planned projects are those that are developed with the goal of beneficially reusing a recycled water supply.

Over the past few years, there has been a noticeable trend in the amount of, and/or levels of, contamination in this water. Planned projects are spending more and more each year to combat this occurrence. The treatment processes they use are expensive and inefficient because they require resins and filtration media. Media that requires maintenance, disposal, and extensive profiling. In a wastewater treatment application, the LSTE eliminates the need for these expenses as it removes the contamination mechanically and requires minimal maintenance.

Enormous amounts of fuel (approximately 890 million tons) are consumed each year by the world fleet of cargo, commercial, and military vessels. There are about 100,000 merchant vessels (over 400 gross tons) and about 20,000 military vessels in the world. All of these vessels release fuel into the oceans of the world. Regardless of how this occurs, LSTE is the first of its kind with a practical solution. When used in a maritime application LSTE can separate the fuel from bilge storage reserves and treat it on board or return the fuel for use.

Many manufacturing companies use solvents, oil by-products, and chemicals every day. They also have cooling processes that involve the infiltration of these compounds into a water stream and or liquid stream. Throughout the manufacturing of their products, cocktails of liquid waste are generated. These waste streams create a loss in usable products and are very expensive to dispose of. The LSTE Technology can change all that. When applied in a manufacturing application the LSTE can remove the waste from water and or liquids, return usable products for reuse, and eliminate costly disposal. In 2005 alone, the United States produced an estimated 9 million barrels of crude oil per day and imported 13.21 million barrels per day from other countries. This oil gets refined into gasoline, kerosene, heating oil and other products. To keep up with our consumption, oil companies must constantly look for new technologies to increase this volume, as well as improve the production of existing wells. The challenge they face is water production from drilling, refining, cracking, and cocking. The estimated loss of usable product in these processes is over 20%. The LSTE Technology will change all of that by returning more than 99% of lost product. By implementing the LSTE Technology into fuel production when non-product liquids are generated, the LSTE can be used to separate these non-product liquids and increase the volume of usable product.
